Experience Required:
• 0 to 3+ years of experience in Pediatrics
Educational Qualification:
• MD in Pediatrics
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
• Provide medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, from birth to 18 years.
• Diagnose and treat a wide variety of pediatric diseases, conditions, and illnesses such as respiratory infections, ear infections, gastrointestinal disorders, and developmental issues.
• Perform physical examinations and developmental assessments for children.
2. Preventive Healthcare:
• Administer vaccinations as per national immunization schedules and monitor for any side effects.
• Advise parents on preventive health practices such as nutrition, hygiene, and regular screenings.
• Promote healthy lifestyle practices to reduce childhood obesity and prevent chronic illnesses.
3. Diagnostic Procedures:
• Conduct necessary diagnostic tests, including blood tests, X-rays, and ultrasounds to help diagnose conditions.
• Evaluate growth and development, providing intervention when necessary.
4. Treatment & Medication:
• Prescribe medications and treatments as needed, including antibiotics, pain management, and other therapies.
• Recommend alternative therapies or referrals for specialist care when required.
• Monitor responses to treatment and make adjustments to plans as necessary.
5. Emergency Care:
• Provide urgent care to children in need of immediate attention, including those with life-threatening conditions.
• Stabilize critically ill or injured children and guide them for further medical attention as needed.
6. Parent Education:
• Educate parents and caregivers on how to manage common childhood illnesses at home.
• Provide guidance on parenting practices, nutrition, and child safety.
• Support parents with concerns about their child’s growth, development, or behavior.
7. Follow-up Care:
• Conduct regular follow-up visits for children with chronic conditions like asthma, diabetes, or congenital disorders.
• Track development milestones and address any concerns regarding cognitive, physical, or emotional growth.
8. Collaboration with Specialists:
• Collaborate with pediatric specialists such as pediatric cardiologists, neurologists, and others when the need arises.
• Work closely with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, dietitians, and therapists, to provide comprehensive care for pediatric patients.
9. Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients, including treatments, progress notes, and immunization histories.
• Ensure proper documentation of patient care in compliance with medical standards and legal requirements.
