Job description

Key Responsibilities:

•    Manage product life cycles from design through production and deployment.
•    Collaborate with world-class experts and teams on innovative mechanical design projects.
•    Interface directly with machine shops and factories to ensure production specifications are met.
•    Oversee design, development, and commissioning of machine designs, including robotic arms, linear tracks, and other machine elements.
•    Perform detailed engineering calculations, conduct design reviews, and ensure adherence to DFX standards.
•    Manage CAD modeling and detailing, including SolidWorks 2018 or above, ensuring precision and clarity in design deliverables.
•    Conduct structural and thermal analyses using tools such as SolidWorks Simulation and ANSYS.
•    Design thermal systems and perform FEM stress and thermal analysis.
•    Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, and laser cutting.
•    Ensure purchased part selection aligns with global standards and specifications, performing necessary calculations.
•    Maintain adherence to industry standards including ISO, DIN, ANSI, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) practices.
•    Ensure compliance with both Metric and Imperial Design Standards, performing stack-up analysis, fits, and tolerance evaluations.

Requirements:

•    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
•    Proven experience in mechanical design with 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
•    Proficiency in CAD design tools such as SolidWorks; SolidWorks Simulation and ANSYS experience is a plus.
•    Hands-on experience with machine design, including the design of machine elements such as couplings, lead screws, and bearings.
•    Strong knowledge of structural analysis (FEM stress analysis) and thermal analysis using CAD tools.
•    Experience in thermal system design is a plus.
•    Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, sheet metal processes, and laser cutting.
•    Familiarity with purchased parts selection and adherence to global specifications and standards.
•    Knowledge of Material Selection, Design Standards (ISO, DIN, ANSI), and GD&T practices.
•    Experience in Machine Building and Commissioning is an added advantage.
•    Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
