Job description
We are hiring a Marine Superintendent for a leading Shipping Company. We are seeking a qualified professional with seafaring experience and a strong background in chemical tankers or LNG vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure safe and efficient vessel operations in compliance with company policies, international regulations, and industry standards.
• Oversee shipboard operations, navigational safety, and cargo handling procedures.
• Conduct vessel inspections, audits, and accident investigations as needed.
• Assist in the development and implementation of safety management systems (SMS) and ensure adherence to ISM, ISPS, and MARPOL regulations.
• Provide guidance and support to ship captains and crew on operational and safety matters.
• Coordinate with port authorities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth vessel operations.
• Monitor vessel performance, identify operational issues, and suggest improvements.
Requirements:
• Master Mariner Certification with sailing experience.
• 0 - 3 years of experience as a Marine Superintendent (shore-based role).
• Must have sailing experience on Chemical Tankers or LNG Vessels.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations (ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and handle multiple vessels simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in vessel audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Familiarity with marine software systems and reporting tools.
