Job Description
As a Dance Teacher, your primary responsibility is to instruct students in various forms of dance, including but not limited to ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, and hip-hop. You'll design and implement lesson plans, provide guidance on technique and performance, and foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Development:
• Create lesson plans tailored to the age, skill level, and interests of students.
• Develop progressive curriculum to ensure students' continuous improvement.
• Incorporate diverse dance styles and techniques into lesson plans.
• Instruction and Demonstration:
• Teach dance techniques, choreography, and routines to students individually and in groups.
• Demonstrate proper form, movement, and expression.
• Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students.
• Performance Preparation:
• Prepare students for performances, recitals, and competitions.
Classroom Management:
• Maintain a safe and organized learning environment.
• Enforce studio rules and policies.
• Manage student behaviour and resolve conflicts effectively.
• Communication and Collaboration:
• Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress, schedules, and upcoming events.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a dance instructor or performer.
• Proficiency in various dance styles, with expertise in at least one style.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and passion for teaching dance.
