Gangpur Ventures Private Limited, established in July 2021, is a social enterprise dedicated to creating livelihood opportunities for tribal communities in India's Chotanagpur region, encompassing parts of Odisha, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh. The company focuses on empowering rural farmers, with a strong emphasis on women's involvement in agriculture.
To address the acute shortage of quality fodder in the dairy farming industry, Gangpur Ventures organizes tribal farmers into 'Producer Groups' to cultivate maize crops. These crops are then purchased by the company on pre-agreed terms and processed into baled silage, which is supplied to commercial dairy farms in Eastern India. This model ensures a consistent supply of fresh fodder for dairy farms and provides better livelihoods for tribal farmers.
Beyond silage production, Gangpur Ventures has expanded its efforts to support rural women by establishing small-scale processing units, primarily operated by women's Self-Help Groups. These units focus on agro-processing initiatives, enabling farmers to add value to their produce and elevate their income.
We prepare nutritious and palatable corn silage bales. Our aim is to bridge the fodder gap for Eastern India and create meaningful and gainful livelihoods options for the farming communities through a network of social enterprises.
