CSI School for the Blind Irenepuram, founded in 1970 by the CSI Kanyakumari Diocese, stands as a compassionate educational sanctuary for visually challenged children across all backgrounds. Situated on a serene 3-acre campus just 5 km from Marthandam in Kanyakumari district, the school is dedicated to uplifting children aged 5 to 15 by offering free education up to B.Ed level, along with hostel accommodation, nutritious food, healthcare, and special coaching in music, sports, handicrafts, and computer skills. This initiative not only imparts literacy and life skills but also aims at full rehabilitation and social reintegration of its students. With generous support from the Christoffel Blinden Mission, Germany, and under the blessings of Rt. Rev. I.R.H. Gnanadason, the institution has become a beacon of hope, enabling countless visually impaired children to become self-reliant, respected individuals contributing meaningfully to society.
